About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Troop Support Subsistence and Market Fresh Program is conducting a Request for Information (RFI) to gather market research regarding the supply of fresh bread and bakery products to military customers in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C. The RFI seeks feedback and comments from potential suppliers on the agency's fresh bread and bakery items to inform the development of a future solicitation. Key contract requirements include delivery of fresh products within 24 hours of baking, or within 72 hours following non-bake days, with bakery items containing FDA-approved mold inhibitors at appropriate levels and maintained at commercial temperature standards. The solicitation will ultimately result in one or more indefinite quantity contracts (IQCs) with commercial firms. The deadline for responding to this RFI is December 19, 2025, at 3:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, with responses to be submitted via email to the government points of contact, Edith Moss and Alicia Nichols-Harris. It is important to note that this RFI does not constitute a commitment from the Government, responses will not be compensated, and participation does not guarantee future business.

This procurement carries no set-aside designation and no incumbent contractors are identified in the RFI materials. The estimated contract value is $420,347.40 for a firm fixed-price three-year performance period, with a maximum potential value of $1,261,042.20 over the full contract term. The Schedule of Items specifies 25 distinct bakery products across two product groups, including bagels, various bread varieties (white, wheat, rye, and whole grain), multiple roll types (dinner, frankfurter, hamburger, and hoagie), and English muffins, each with specific stock numbers, package configurations, and weight specifications. The Customer Lists attachment details delivery requirements across multiple military and government facilities with delivery frequencies ranging from three to five times per week and specific delivery times for each location. Interested vendors are encouraged to review the complete RFI documentation, including the Schedule of Items and Delivery Schedule attachments, to assess their capability to meet the agency's requirements.
