About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center Joint Base San Antonio is seeking to procure 1,500 Filter Insertion System (FIS) Screens, which are specialized U-1C Airborne Particulate Sampling Foil components used in airborne particulate collection systems. These screens are critical structural components that must be manufactured to precise specifications per drawing MAT-A-1169, as they will be exposed to extreme temperatures and stresses when placed directly into aircraft airstreams. The procurement requires contractors to have ISO 9001 certification and submit a comprehensive technical narrative detailing their manufacturing approach and First Article Production plan. The government will use a Lowest Priced, Technically Acceptable (LPTA) evaluation approach with technical evaluation based on three sub-factors: ISO 9001 certification, detailed manufacturing approach addressing technical specifications, and First Article Production planning. Quotes must be submitted by 10:00 a.m. on June 5, 2025, and the contractor must provide two first article units within 30 days of award for government inspection.
This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside under NAICS code 332618 for businesses with 500 or fewer employees. No incumbent contractors are mentioned in the solicitation documents, and no specific budget range or award values are disclosed, though the requirement includes 1,500 production screens plus 2 first article units for a total of 1,502 units. The contract will be structured as a firm-fixed price arrangement with Net 30 payment terms processed electronically through WAWF. Delivery of the full production lot is expected within 16 weeks of award receipt, with inspection and acceptance conducted at destination. The place of performance is San Antonio, Texas 78243, and the specialized nature of these components means there are no suitable commercial substitutes available, making this a uniquely governmental requirement.
