About this opportunity
The United States Army TACOM Life Cycle Management Command is conducting a market survey to identify sources capable of manufacturing the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV) A2, which includes 3-, 8-, and 10-ton trucks and trailers with various configurations such as cargo trucks, vans, tractors, wreckers, dump trucks, and load handling systems. The Product Director for Multi-Mission Protected Vehicle Systems seeks vendors who can provide comprehensive vehicle production capabilities along with associated kits including armor and arctic kits, System Technical Support (STS), Maintenance Technical Representative (MTR) support, and Total Package Fielding (TPF). Interested vendors must complete a detailed 47-question survey covering company capabilities, past performance, production processes, engineering expertise, logistics experience, and technical qualifications. The survey responses must be submitted electronically to Contracting Officer John Pierce and Contract Specialist Jenna Burres by 5:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time on July 31, 2025. Vendors may respond to all or part of the market survey requirements, and responses should include the company name in the subject line when submitting to the specified Army email addresses.
This market research initiative does not include any set-aside designations and is specifically noted as not being a formal solicitation that commits the government to any contractual agreement. No current incumbents or contractors are mentioned in the documentation, indicating this may represent a new competitive opportunity or recompetition of existing services. The government anticipates issuing a potential 10-year competitive contract that would span from fiscal year 2028 through fiscal year 2038, representing a significant long-term procurement opportunity. While specific award values or budget ranges are not disclosed in the market survey, the decade-long timeline and comprehensive scope covering multiple vehicle variants, support services, and fielding activities suggests this will be a substantial defense contract. The survey explicitly states that vendors may respond in total or in part to the requirements, allowing for potential teaming arrangements or specialized responses to specific vehicle categories or support functions.
