About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Mobility Command's 22 LRS Vehicle Maintenance is seeking etching services for 7,768 chrome tools distributed across eight Snap-On toolboxes, with approximately 971 tools per toolbox. The contractor will be responsible for etching each tool with its corresponding unique identification code (MKVM8001 through MKVM8008) according to the attached Performance Work Statement, with both individual tools and their carrying cases requiring etching while the toolboxes themselves do not. The solicitation utilizes a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) evaluation approach, meaning the contract will be awarded to the lowest-priced offer that meets all technical requirements. Questions regarding the solicitation must be submitted by August 25, 2025, at 9:00 AM CST, while quotes are due by September 2, 2025, at 9:00 AM CST, both to be directed to Warnage Fonseka and Haley Frierdich via email. The requested delivery date is November 30, 2025, with work to be completed during normal business hours excluding federal holidays and wing down days.
This procurement is set aside for Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) under NAICS code 332812 with a size standard of 500 employees, though it is also described as a Total Small Business set-aside in the opportunity type. The total estimated project value is $238,000, with the eight toolboxes having a combined weight of 10,160 pounds and individual dimensions of 80"H x 59"L x 27"W. Each toolkit weighs approximately 1,270 pounds and will be shipped on individual pallets, with the contractor responsible for all shipping logistics including arranging carrier pickup. The place of performance is Wichita, Kansas, and the contractor must coordinate with the 22 LRS/LGRV Point of Contact to schedule delivery within 30 days of contract acceptance. The contractor must possess the capability to effectively and durably etch various styles and shapes of chrome tools, with tools remaining in their original manufacturer packaging to minimize etching errors.
