About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs' Eastern Oklahoma VA Health Care System is seeking to procure a comprehensive set of engineering tools and equipment for the new Tulsa VA Medical Center facility renovation project. The procurement includes specialized machinery such as drill presses, welding equipment, pipe threading tools, and various maintenance-related apparatus to support the facility's Engineering Service department. This market research opportunity is designed to identify potential vendors capable of supplying high-quality, professional-grade equipment that meets specific technical and safety standards including OSHA, EPA, and VA Health Care System directives. Interested contractors must complete and submit the RFI Exhibit A form by 11 AM CDT on May 28, 2025, via email to Robert Clark and Mika Gant. The market research phase will help the VA evaluate potential sources and gather critical information about vendor capabilities and equipment specifications.
The contract opportunity is specifically set aside for Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, with a preference for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business contractors under NAICS category 333248 (All Other Industrial Machinery Manufacturing). The equipment will be delivered to a warehouse in Sapulpa, Oklahoma between June 1, 2025, and August 10, 2025, with manufacturer warranties to commence on the first patient day, currently scheduled for January 20, 2026. The business size standard for this procurement is 750 employees, providing opportunities for small to mid-sized businesses. While specific award values are not detailed in the pre-solicitation notice, the comprehensive list of required equipment suggests a significant investment in maintaining the new medical center's infrastructure. Contractors must be prepared to provide electronic user and repair manuals and coordinate closely with the Contracting Officer's Representative throughout the procurement process.
