About this opportunity

The Santa Fe National Forest is soliciting contractors for comprehensive road maintenance activities on the Coyote Ranger District through the Encino Vista Road Maintenance project. The scope of work includes five primary tasks: drain dip construction involving excavation and compaction of 300 cubic yards of native material, road widening requiring 530 cubic yards of excavation and compaction to achieve 12-foot road widths, aggregate surfacing with 1,800 tons of material, road reconditioning across 6.5 miles including ditch and shoulder maintenance, and culvert replacement featuring installation of one 36-inch diameter, 30-foot corrugated metal pipe. The project supports future timber operations within the Rio Chama Collaborative Forest Landscape Restoration Project area and covers multiple National Forest System Roads totaling 7.9 miles. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for October 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the intersection of NFSRs 103 and 76, with proposal submissions due by October 24, 2025, via email to troy.mccullough@usda.gov.

This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside under NAICS code 237310 (Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction), with an anticipated contract value between $250,000 and $500,000. The government expects to award a firm-fixed price contract with Davis-Bacon wage requirements applying to the work. The period of performance extends from November 10, 2025, to November 9, 2026, providing contractors with a full year to complete the maintenance activities. Work will be performed in Gallina, New Mexico, specifically on roads 103, 103E, 103EH, 103F, 461, 461EBA, 461F, 461G, 461H, and 461J within the Santa Fe National Forest.
