About this opportunity

This Special Notice from the Department of the Navy Naval Sea Systems Command concerns a project to replace an existing 15-ton HVAC system at an unspecified location. The new air conditioning system shall include installation of a split system condensing outdoor unit on an existing concrete pad outside, and an up-flow Air Handler inside an equipment room, connected by an existing copper Line-set.

The contractor will provide all equipment, materials, and installation labor to replace the HVAC system, which is believed to be oversized for the conditioned area and existing duct work. Heat load calculations must be compiled by the HVAC contractor to appropriately size the new system. The existing interior ductwork and electric strip heaters will also be examined, tested, and replaced if defective. The outdoor unit must have corrosion protection coating. Contractors must submit all equipment and installation plans for government review and approval before starting replacement work. Bids are due no later than February 21, 2024, with no set-aside restrictions on contractor eligibility.
