About this opportunity

The Department of State, through GA Global Acquisitions, is conducting market research to identify vendors capable of supplying high-quality, commercial-grade residential furniture under Product Service Code 7105 (Household Furniture) for a potential Blanket Purchase Agreement. The Department seeks to establish a streamlined procurement mechanism for repetitive purchases of household furnishings and related supplies to support its worldwide portfolio of residential properties managed by multiple internal customers, including the Furniture and Appliance Pool, the Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations Office of Residential Design & Furnishings, and the Office of Interior Design. Qualified vendors must be American manufacturers capable of providing off-the-shelf furniture that meets middle-to-upper bracket industry quality standards, constructed with hardwood veneers and solid woods (excluding laminates, particle board, and pressed wood), mortise-and-tenon construction, multi-step finishes, and BIFMA compliance, with all items fully assembled and carrying a 12-year warranty. Vendors are evaluated based on their capability to outfit two distinct house configurations—a standard 3-bedroom residential property and a compact urban apartment—in specified design styles (Transitional, Contemporary, and Modern for House A; Minimalist for House B), color schemes (Warm, Neutral, Cool), and wood/metal finishes, as well as their ability to manage containerized overseas shipping, high-volume order processing, warehousing, and customer account services. The final deadline for RFI responses is March 6, 2026, at 5:00 PM EST, and vendors must submit completed Attachment A Product Specification Charts with direct hyperlinks to specific products rather than generic company websites; GSA Schedule presence will be mandatory during the formal solicitation phase, requiring vendors to update their GSA product listings accordingly.

No set-aside designations have been applied to this procurement, and no incumbent contractors or specific award values are identified in the pre-solicitation materials. This is a market research effort only, with no pricing information required at the RFI stage, and specific product details, delivery requirements, packaging instructions, delivery schedules, invoicing procedures, and delivery locations will be determined at the individual order level. The contract structure is designed to facilitate repetitive purchases across the Department's global residential portfolio, though the exact quantities and budget allocations have not been disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice. All furniture must be available in three color schemes with specified wood finishes (White Oak, Walnut, Ebonized) and metal finishes (silver, steel, brass), and vendors must demonstrate logistical capabilities to support both domestic and international operations. The procurement timeline indicates that formal solicitation will follow this market research phase, at which point GSA Schedule compliance becomes a mandatory requirement for vendor participation.
