About this opportunity
The Department of Defense (DoD), through the Defense Health Agency, is seeking to develop a Rapid Donor Screening (RDS) technology that is U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cleared with a donor screening indication. The RDS must include multiplexed assays for HIV-1 and -2, Hepatitis B and C, blood type and Rh factor, using a whole blood sample and providing results in 20 minutes or less. The technology must be rugged, lightweight, compact, and operate without requiring connectivity to a cloud domain. Proposals will be evaluated on technical approach, management approach, and cost, with technical approach being the most important factor. Proposals are due by May 29, 2024, and the estimated period of performance is 90 months.
This opportunity has no set-aside designation. The government has not identified any potential incumbents or current contractors. The award will be made under the authority of prototype Other Transaction Authority (pOTA), and the award type will be cost plus fixed fee. The target location for the work is Frederick, MD, USA.
