The accomplishment of the Bureau's mission is largely supported by the IT applications developed and supported by CTO many of which involve inter-agency discussion and cooperation due to integration requirements. The purpose of the procurement is to acquire software engineering Development, Modernization, and Enhancement (DME), technical, operations and administrative support for the Bureau of Diplomatic Security. DME work includes support for any and all phases of the software development life cycle. Technical support services include Level 3 support, software maintenance, analytical and research support, testing and installation of patches, and development and deployment of emergency or urgent releases. Operations support may include managing deployments of applications, administering users, updating security patches, performing database backups, proactively monitoring and tuning database and providing operational training.
