About this opportunity
The Department of the Interior Interior Business Center seeks one Continental factory-rebuilt, zero total time IO-550F-12B engine for the Office of Aviation Services Alaska Regional Office fleet, with quotations due July 14, 2026. The procurement is set aside 100% for Women-Owned Small Business under NAICS 336412 with a 1,500-employee size standard.
Delivery is required to Anchorage, Alaska by June 30, 2027. The engine must include dual impulse coupled magnetos, a large 7.88" de-congealing oil cooler (P/N 654595), 24-volt starter, four-point engine mount, and spin-on oil filter. Shipping costs, inbound freight to Alaska, and core exchange credit are included in a firm-fixed price arrangement. The selected quoter must be a Continental authorized distributor or have an agreement with one.
Offerors must be registered in SAM.gov and submit proof of current registration with quotations. Questions are due July 6, 2026. Amendment 0001, effective July 8, 2026, posts all Q&A received to date and must be acknowledged in the final offer; failure to acknowledge may result in offer rejection. The underlying engine (Serial No. 1033410) requires rebuild due to low cylinder compression, camshaft pitting, and lifter pitting. The Department will handle core packaging and shipping to the awarded vendor, who coordinates return routing to their engine supplier. The engine is FAA Type Certificate required; Continental IO-550F-12B is the only FAA-approved option for the Cessna C206G conversion in the Department's fleet.
