About this opportunity
The National Institutes of Health Office of Logistics and Acquisition Operations is conducting a sole-source procurement for a Preventative Maintenance Agreement for a da Vinci Xi Surgical Robot system, with a response deadline of September 26, 2026. This is a sole-source acquisition under FAR 13.106-1(b); SDV Medical, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, is the sole authorized provider approved by Intuitive Surgical to deliver PMA services for the da Vinci Xi system in the United States.
The National Institutes of Health Clinical Center's Department of Perioperative Medicine requires the PMA to ensure uninterrupted surgical capabilities for urologic, thoracic, and oncology procedures performed with the da Vinci Xi system, which combines HD robotic-assisted minimally invasive surgical technology with targeted cancer gene therapy. The PMA is essential to maintain Joint Commission compliance and prevent lapses in preventative maintenance coverage for patient-contact equipment. The procurement value ranges from ten thousand to two hundred fifty thousand dollars. Intuitive Surgical manufactures the da Vinci Xi exclusively and does not distribute PMA services through group purchasing organizations or alternative channels, eliminating competing sources. The justification was submitted July 1, 2026. The opportunity is classified under NAICS 339112 and PSC J066.
