About this opportunity

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing is seeking qualified small business sources for currency bundle labels and cash pak pressure-sensitive labels, with technical capability statements due July 31, 2026 at 4:30 PM Eastern Time.

This is a market-research sources sought notice, not a binding solicitation. The government will not reimburse response costs. Respondents must meet small business size standards under NAICS 322299 (500 employees or fewer) and address seven mandatory questions: manufacturing and supply capability to meet specifications; experience producing similar products for federal or commercial customers; UEI and small business status designation; ability to provide qualification samples; anticipated technical or manufacturing challenges; production capacity and historical delivery performance; and any specification clarifications needed.

The procurement covers two main label categories: printed process labels for bundle and cash-pak sets (available in 100K and 200K process volumes with old and new currency design variants for bundles; solid color block and diagonal dropout types for cash-paks), and blank labels for thermal transfer printing. Bundle labels are die-cut to 120.7 by 57.2 mm; cash-pak labels are 127 mm by 120.7 mm. All labels require permanent pressure-sensitive adhesive with low initial tack and progressive bond strength, Code 39 barcodes meeting ANSI X-3.182 grade C/10/630 or better, and release liners supporting tear-free transport. Bundle labels must be repositionable within one hour and permanently attached within six hours. Cash-pak labels require tamper-evidence capabilities. Labels shall be supplied on 3-inch cores in continuous form with no breaks or splices.

Interested contractors should submit technical capability statements to susandelacruz@treasury.gov. The attached BEP Specification document (32 pages, effective March 1, 2026) provides detailed requirements. A Request for Quote will be posted at a later date if the requirement advances.
