About this opportunity

The Department of the Interior National Park Service Intermountain Region is seeking to procure approximately 825 tons of weed-free, certified road base aggregate material (AB) for the Coronado National Memorial. The material must be one inch or less in size and meet FHWA FP-14 Section 703.06 specifications for crushed aggregate, being uniformly graded and free of organic matter, clay, and other deleterious materials. The contract will be awarded using the Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) evaluation method to vendors who are registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) as small businesses and possess a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI). Questions regarding the solicitation were due by 12:00 PM Mountain Time on June 4, 2025, and quotes must be submitted electronically to lindsay_mclaughlin@nps.gov by 12:00 PM Mountain Time on June 13, 2025. The anticipated award date is within 5 days of receiving offers.

This procurement is designated as a Total Small Business Set-Aside under NAICS code 212321 (Construction Sand and Gravel Mining), restricting participation to qualifying small businesses. The contract period of performance runs from June 16, 2025, to July 15, 2025, with delivery required to a staging area approximately one mile from the CORO Visitor Center in Hereford, Arizona. Deliveries must occur between 7:00 AM and 4:30 PM on weekdays only, excluding federal holidays, with the specific delivery location at GPS coordinates 31°20'53"N 110°16'21"W. The government will arrange a quarry site visit to verify that the material is weed-free rather than requiring separate certification from vendors. Amendment 0001 has been issued addressing vendor questions and clarifying delivery requirements, which must be acknowledged with any submitted quote package.
