About this opportunity

Argonne National Laboratory, operated under the Department of Energy Office of Science, is soliciting quotations for non-destructive concrete and masonry scanning services to be provided on an as-needed basis over one year from the date of award. The contractor shall utilize Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and complementary detection technologies to identify embedded elements such as reinforcing steel, post-tension cables, electrical conduits, mechanical piping, anchors, and voids within various concrete and masonry substrates including cast-in-place slabs, walls, beams, columns, decks, and precast elements. The scanning services are required to reduce risk prior to blind penetrations such as drilling, coring, cutting, anchoring, or demolition activities, thereby supporting safe construction and maintenance operations. The contractor must provide trained and experienced technicians, appropriate equipment, comprehensive documentation including field sketches, photographs, annotated drawings, and summary reports, and must comply with all applicable Argonne, OSHA, Environmental Safety and Health (ESH), and Department of Energy safety requirements. Award will be made on a lowest price, technically acceptable methodology basis, with quotations due by April 17, 2026.

This solicitation contains no set-aside designation and identifies no incumbent contractors. No specific award value or budget range is disclosed in the solicitation documents; instead, contractors must submit pricing on the provided price schedule template for evaluation purposes. Services will be performed on an as-needed basis with work coordinated through the Argonne technical representative, with short-notice or emergency requests possible depending on operational needs. The contract term spans one year from the award date. Work will be performed at Argonne National Laboratory located in Lemont, Illinois at 9700 South Cass Avenue, specifically in support of Building 201 activities. Contractors must comply with comprehensive terms and conditions including mandatory insurance coverage (General Liability minimum of $2,000,000 per occurrence, Automobile Liability of $1,000,000, and Professional Liability of $2,000,000 per occurrence), indemnification provisions, and extensive on-site safety and access protocols established in the Moderate Risk On-Site Supplemental Conditions (ANL-366M).
