About this opportunity
The National Institute of Standards and Technology seeks pricing for a high-performance computer system for modeling, simulation, and artificial intelligence in additive manufacturing, with quotations due May 27, 2026 and questions due May 19, 2026. This is a total small business set-aside restricted to firms with no more than 1,250 employees under NAICS code 334111 (Electronic Computer Manufacturing).
Delivery is FOB Destination to Building 304 at NIST's Gaithersburg, Maryland facility within thirty days of order receipt. The system must include one NVIDIA H200 NVL Tensor Core GPU (141GB HBM3e PCIe Gen 5.0) or acceptable B300 alternative with capability to support at least one additional GPU in the future, a motherboard supporting minimum two GPUs, 64-core 3.20 GHz AMD Threadripper Pro 7985WX equivalent processor, minimum 128GB RAM, 7.68TB PCI-E 4.0 NVMe SSD primary storage, Windows 11 Pro or later operating system, support for six display monitors, and 100 GbE networking. The contractor must perform minimum 48-hour continuous stress testing prior to delivery, provide a hardware validation report, and deliver minimum two hours of virtual training for up to five personnel within thirty days after installation. NIST reserves the right to independently test the system for up to fourteen calendar days, including running at least three different large language model configurations on the dedicated GPU.
Award will be firm fixed price to the technically acceptable quoter with the lowest price offering best value. Quotations must be valid for ninety days minimum and submitted electronically to Jennifer.lohmeier@nist.gov. The contractor must provide minimum three years labor warranty and one year parts warranty. Payment is Net 30 days upon acceptance. All offerors must be active SAM registrants at solicitation close.
