About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Integrated Service Network 21 is seeking commercial electrician services to support the VA Pacific Islands Health Care System (VAPIHCS) in Hawaii. This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued as market research to identify qualified vendors capable of providing on-call commercial electrician services across multiple VAPIHCS facilities. Qualified contractors must be State of Hawaii certified electricians and licensed contractors with capabilities in high voltage work, troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and preventive maintenance. The contractors must comply with the National Electrical Code, VA lockout/tagout procedures, infection control standards, and all applicable federal and local regulations, and must provide 24/7 emergency response with a two-hour callback requirement. The deadline for submitting responses to the RFI is April 7, 2026 at 10:00 AM HST, with questions due by April 3, 2026 at 10:00 AM HST, and the anticipated formal solicitation posting is scheduled for mid-April 2026.
This procurement carries no set-aside designation and does not identify any current contractors or incumbents. The estimated requirement is 40 hours per month or 480 hours annually, with the contract period consisting of one base year (August 1, 2026 through July 31, 2027) plus two one-year option periods, extending through July 31, 2029. Responding vendors must provide a complete RFI response including seven required elements: company information, an informal pricing estimate or quote, capabilities statement, business size, UEI number, details of any existing IDIQ contracts, and feedback on the Performance Work Statement. All electrical installations and repairs must include a one-year warranty, and the contractor must submit detailed cost estimates within ten business days of request. While no specific budget range is disclosed in the RFI, the government will evaluate responses to determine market capability and pricing prior to issuing the formal solicitation.
