About this opportunity
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Shared Services Center has issued a Special Notice for Collaborative Data Science Projects focused on NASA Earth Science. NASA intends to award a sole source contract to the Alabama A&M University Research, Innovation, Science and Engineering Foundation, Inc. for these services under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i).
The purpose of this effort is to develop advanced data analysis techniques, machine learning models, and visualization tools to address challenging Earth science problems and improve data system operations. NASA will acquire commercial items and services for a one-year period of performance from September 2, 2024 to May 2, 2025. The Alabama A&M University Research, Innovation, Science and Engineering Foundation, Inc. is the sole provider of these services, as they can provide a graduate-level computer science student, computational resources, and data science expertise to collaborate with NASA's Interagency Implementation and Advanced Concepts Team. Synopsis:
NASA/NSSC has a requirement for Collaborative Data Science Projects Focus on NASA Earth Science.
NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to THE ALABAMA A&M UNIVERSITY RESEARCH, INNOVATION, SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING FOUNDATION, INC., 4900 Meridian STREET, North P.O. Box 272, Howard J. Foster Irradiation Building, Normal, Alabama 35762-0411 under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). It has been determined that THE ALABAMA A&M UNIVERSITY RESEARCH, INNOVATION, SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING FOUNDATION, INC. is the sole provider of Collaborative Data Science Projects Focus on NASA Earth Science.
NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Performance will be located at NASA/ Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC).
The Government intends to acquire commercial items and services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13.
The NAICS Code for this procurement is 611310
Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 10:00 a.m. Central Standard Time on 8/27/2024. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
