About this opportunity

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), a civilian agency within the Department of the Treasury, is seeking to establish an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for ultra-high purity (UHP) chromium targets used in its currency note production process. The solicitation, identified as RFQ 2031ZA25Q00089, requires vendors to supply 24 chromium targets for each of BEP's facilities in Washington, D.C. and Fort Worth, TX. The contract will be awarded on a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) basis, with vendors required to submit a Certificate of Analysis, a sample chrome target, and a Letter of Supply from the manufacturer. Potential offerors must meet specific technical requirements, including a 99.6% minimum purity for the targets and precise dimensional specifications. Critical deadlines include February 28, 2025, for submitting questions and March 21, 2025, at 3:30 PM EST for quote submissions.

The solicitation is a 100% small business set-aside under NAICS code 332813 with a size standard of 500 employees. The contract will cover a five-year period from June 14, 2025, through June 13, 2030, with each ordering period requiring 12 sets of targets (3 targets per set) for each facility, totaling 36 individual targets per facility annually. The minimum order quantity is 2 sets, with a maximum of 24 sets per order. Delivery requirements mandate that the first order must be fulfilled within 12 weeks of award, with subsequent orders deliverable within one year. The targets are critical components in the physical vapor deposition (PVD) plating process used to create industrial plates for printing United States currency notes. Performance locations are specified as the Eastern Currency Facility in Washington, DC (20228) and the Western Currency Facility in Fort Worth, TX.
