About this opportunity

This pre-solicitation notice indicates the government's intent to award a sole source, firm fixed price contract to Illumina under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a). The contract will cover maintenance services for electronic and precision equipment repair and maintenance. Interested parties may submit quotations or responses to demonstrate their interest and capability to fulfill this requirement by January 27, 2026, at 3:00 PM Eastern Time, with submissions directed to the Contract Specialist at zwh7@cdc.gov. While this notice is not a formal request for competitive quotations, all responses received by the deadline will be considered, and the government reserves the right to determine whether to proceed with a competitive procurement based on the responses received.
The procurement involves no set-aside designation and reflects the government's stated intent to contract with Illumina, the current provider of the NextSeq instruments requiring maintenance. The anticipated period of performance runs from January 31, 2026, through January 30, 2027, covering a one-year maintenance term. Although no specific contract value is disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, the firm fixed price structure will establish clear, predetermined costs for the maintenance services. The contract will provide maintenance support for exactly two NextSeq 1000 instruments, which are classified under NAICS code 811210 (Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance) and PSC code J066 (Maintenance/Repair/Rebuild of Equipment—Instruments and Laboratory Equipment). The four-day response window reflects the expedited nature of this procurement action.
