About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center is conducting a market research survey to identify potential sources for overhauling C-5 Main Landing Gear Hydraulic Brake Assemblies. The procurement seeks contractors with expertise in repairing specialized hydraulic brake components used in emergency aircraft landing gear extension, with specific technical requirements outlined in technical order T.O 16A1-17-4-3. Interested contractors must submit a detailed Contractor Capability Survey by April 11, 2025, demonstrating their technical capabilities, manufacturing processes, and quality assurance methods. The government will evaluate responses based on technical expertise, repair capabilities, configuration management, and potential teaming arrangements. Potential respondents should contact Program Manager J. McKenzie Grinstead, Contract Specialist Alyssa Tanner, and PCO Phillip Russell with any questions about the opportunity.
No specific small business set-aside has been predetermined for this contract, though the government will analyze small business responses to determine the final procurement strategy. The contract is structured as a ten-year Requirements Type Contract with a one-year basic period and four one-year ordering periods, followed by five additional one-year options. The estimated procurement quantity is 56 brake assemblies per ordering period, targeting NSN 3040-01-236-5742 and part number 42357-30. Contractors are advised that participation in this market survey does not guarantee future solicitation or contract award, and the government will not reimburse any expenses associated with survey participation. Joint ventures and teaming arrangements are encouraged, and respondents should be prepared to discuss their capabilities for fulfilling the entire requirement or specific portions of the work.
