About this file
This document is a Sources Sought (SSS) market research synopsis for the United States Air Force seeking potential contractors to overhaul C-5 Main Landing Gear Hydraulic Brake Assemblies. The procurement involves a ten-year Requirements Type Contract with a one-year basic period and four one-year ordering periods, followed by five one-year options, with an estimated quantity of 56 brake assemblies per ordering period. The hydraulic brake assemblies are spring-released, engaged during emergency landing gear extension, and must be overhauled according to specific technical guidelines.
The market research targets both large and small businesses, with no predetermined small business set-aside decision. Interested contractors must submit a detailed Contractor Capability Survey by April 11, 2025, demonstrating their technical expertise, manufacturing capabilities, quality assurance processes, and capacity to repair and manage these specialized brake assemblies. Respondents are encouraged to outline their configuration management processes, repair capabilities, warranty procedures, and potential teaming/joint venture arrangements. Responses should be sent via email to the Program Manager, Contract Specialist, and Procurement Contracting Officer, with attachments not exceeding 10 MB per email.
