Update #2 ·

AMENDMENT 0001:

This amendment is to answer an industry question and to upload the CAD file of the product sample, small pintle, Drawing 6650748 REV L.

Question: The top view of the part shows a dimension of .744 from what looks to be the
OD of the thread. The thread specification called is: 1.00-12 UNF - 2A. The major diameter for this thread is .9868-.9982. Using these engineering numbers will produce a quality thread but will
impact the dimension (.744). In question if measured with a micrometer across the O.D of the finished thread. Our concern is if we use the theoretical outside diameter of 1.00 to locate the flat for the .744 dimension. And then measure across the flats with a micrometer you will read very close if not right on the low dimension. Of -.005 (drawing specifies +/- .005 for 3 decimal place dimensions). My concern is the inspector may see this as a defect if they measure less than that .744 called out in the drawing. And fail us for turning in a bad part.

Answer: The intent of this drawing is the major diameter is maintained through the straight portion of the 1.45" turned shaft length. So the .744" is measured from the major diameter of the unthreaded portion of the lower end of the pintle shaft. Maintain your .744 +/-.005" based on the actual measured "Major Diameter".
