About this opportunity
The Department of the Interior, through its Interior Business Center, has issued a Notice of Intent to Sole Source for preventative maintenance services on behalf of the National Institutes of Health's National Cancer Institute, Center for Cancer Research. This special notice concerns the provision of maintenance and service support for two pieces of government-owned laboratory equipment: the CosMx Spatial Molecular Imager and the GeoMx Digital Spatial Profiler, both located at the National Cancer Institute in Rockville, Maryland. The government has identified Bruker as the sole source provider capable of delivering these specialized services without disrupting critical research operations. The notice invites interested parties to submit capability statements to demonstrate their capacity to provide OEM-certified maintenance services, with the government retaining the option to pursue a competitive acquisition based on responses received. This acquisition is structured as a firm-fixed-price contract with an anticipated 12-month base period.
The primary objective of this notice is to solicit capability statements from organizations capable of providing original equipment manufacturer (OEM)-authorized maintenance services for the specified laboratory instruments. Interested contractors must submit capability statements not exceeding ten pages in Microsoft Office or Adobe Acrobat format (minimum 11-point font, 8-point minimum for tables and graphs) and not exceeding 8 MB by 10:00 A.M. ET on Monday, April 20, 2026. Submissions must be directed electronically to Contracting Officer Bridgette Ornelas and Contracting Specialist Desmond Harris, with marketing brochures and generic company literature deemed ineligible. To be considered capable, responding parties must address all requested information and demonstrate expertise in providing OEM-authorized technical support, including three planned preventive maintenances annually, emergency on-site service support, replacement parts, software updates, and unlimited technical telephone support during business hours. All submission costs are the responsibility of interested parties, and the government reserves the right to issue a Request for Quote or conduct a competitive acquisition based on the capability statements received.
