About this opportunity
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration Shared Services Center has issued a Special Notice for a sole source contract renewal with Bruker BioSpin Corp for maintenance services of a Bruker NEO 400 MHz Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectrometer. The instrument is located at NASA Langley Research Center and is extensively used by researchers in the Advanced Materials and Processing Branch for characterizing newly developed organic molecules and polymers. NASA intends to award the contract directly to Bruker BioSpin Corp in Billerica, Massachusetts, under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), as they are the manufacturer and sole provider capable of delivering the required full service maintenance. The contract will cover the performance period from August 1, 2025, to July 31, 2026, and falls under NAICS Code 811210 for electronic and precision equipment repair and maintenance.
The purpose of this Special Notice is to inform the contracting community of NASA's intent to proceed with a sole source procurement while providing an opportunity for other qualified organizations to demonstrate their capabilities. Interested contractors must submit their qualifications and capabilities in writing to the primary point of contact, Shanna Patterson, by 7:00 a.m. Central Standard Time on July 11, 2025. Only written submissions will be accepted, as oral communications are not permitted for this procurement. The maintenance service agreement will include comprehensive coverage of the NMR console, workstation, and magnet, with all parts, labor, travel costs, and remote system support provided by Bruker-trained service engineers. NASA will evaluate submissions solely to determine whether the procurement might be conducted competitively, though the final decision remains entirely at the government's discretion.
