About this opportunity

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA), a civilian agency within the Department of Homeland Security, has issued a Special Notice for an Automated Penetration Testing and Vulnerability Tool contract. The notice indicates the TSA's intent to award a contract to Ironwood Cyber, located in Fort Worth, Texas, using other than full and open competition. The contract is specifically focused on cybersecurity assessments for the TSA Computed Tomography (CT) Unit's expansion of Airport Transportation Screening Equipment connectivity. The opportunity is categorized under the NAICS code 518210 for Computing Infrastructure Providers, Data Processing, Web Hosting, and Related Services. The contract will involve Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware, maintenance, and support.

The primary objective of this Special Notice is to inform potential contractors about the TSA's proposed non-competitive contract award under FAR 6.302 authority. Interested parties have from May 7, 2025, to June 7, 2025, to identify their capabilities or express interest in responding to the requirement. However, the notice explicitly states that this is not a competitive proposal request, and the government retains sole discretion in determining whether to proceed with competition based on received information. The contract will specifically procure automated penetration testing and vulnerability tool licenses, maintenance, and support for TSA's cybersecurity needs. While no specific set-aside is mentioned, contractors should carefully review the notice's parameters and be prepared that the government may choose to limit the procurement to a single source. Any submitted information will primarily be used to assess potential competitive procurement alternatives.
