About this opportunity
The Air Force Sustainment Center is conducting market research to identify sources for depot-level test and repair of AN/ALR-56M Low Voltage Power Supplies, with responses due by September 25, 2026. The government intends sole-source award to Crane Electronics and has determined it uneconomical to reverse engineer technical data, qualify alternative sources, or purchase data rights; Crane is the only known repair source since the system was fielded.
The procurement covers five LVPS variants identified by NSN and part number: 6130-01-381-3231EW (P/N 330454-104), 6130-01-591-9810EW (P/N 330454-107), 6130-01-408-3805EW (P/N 330454-106), 6130-01-407-5312EW (P/N 330454-105), and 6130-01-362-0928EW (P/N 330454-103). Services include obsolete parts resolution, deficiency report investigation, and material improvement projects. Repaired items must meet form, fit, function, and interface requirements per specification 12P3-2ALR56M-24. Contractors must furnish all materials, support equipment, tools, and test equipment and maintain configuration management.
Crane Electronics, Inc. (CAGE 09062) is the original manufacturer and current sole-source repair contractor under contract FA8522-19-D-0003 (RMC/RMSC code R3/B). The government encourages large businesses, small businesses, joint ventures, and teaming arrangements to submit responses to the Contractor Capability Survey via email to Kylie Ordoyne (kylie.ordoyne@us.af.mil) and Joshua Robinson (joshua.robinson.63@us.af.mil). This RFI is for informational planning and budgetary forecasting only; no contract award will result from responses, and the government will not reimburse participation expenses.

The Government is conducting market research to identify potential sources that possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet qualification requirements to provide depot-level test and repair of the ALR-56M Power Supplies. The National Stock Numbers (NSN) and Part Numbers (PN) are as follows:
Item NSN PN
Power Supply, LOW VOLTAGE (PS1) 6130-01-381-3231EW 330454-104
Power Supply, LOW VOLTAGE (PS1) 6130-01-591-9810EW 330454-107
Power Supply, LOW VOLTAGE (PS2) 6130-01-408-3805EW 330454-106
Power Supply, LOW VOLTAGE (PS2) 6130-01-407-5312EW 330454-105
Power Supply, LOW VOLTAGE (PS3) 6130-01-362-0928EW 330454-103
Crane designed, tested, manufactured, and maintained custom power supply solutions including Low Voltage Power Supplies (LVPS’s), High Voltage Power Supplies (HVPS’s), and high-powered amplifiers for weapon systems aboard airborne platforms. Their power supplies are incorporated into critical Electronic Warfare (EW) systems, including the AN/ALQ-184, AN/ALR‑56C, and AN/ALQ‑131, demonstrating high quality and exceptional reliability to function effectively for the American and Allied Warfighter. Crane has extensive experience and know-how providing power supplies for the ALR-56M requirements.
The service shall include providing obsolete parts resolution along with the necessary engineering to investigate Deficiency Reports and Material Improvement Projects (MIPs).
The ALR-56M Power Supplies must meet form, fit, function, and interface requirements as referenced in per 12P3-2ALR56M-24. However, the Government does not own the data or the rights to the data needed to compete the repair of this part. It has been determined to be uneconomical to reverse engineer the data, qualify a new source, or buy the data and/or data rights. Crane is the only source of known repair for this system and has been since it was fielded.
