About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 6 has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to negotiate a sole source contract with Illumina for silver support services at the Durham VA Health Care Center. The contract involves maintenance and support for a NextSeq 2000 Next Generation Sequencer, which is critical equipment used in the VA SeqCURE program. This procurement is justified under FAR 13.106-1(b)(2) as a single-source solicitation, with the Durham VAMC BioMedical team lacking internal capabilities to perform the required preventative maintenance. The contract falls under NAICS code 811210 for Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance, with an estimated value of $34 million. The solicitation number is 36C24625Q0973, and the contracting officer is Byron Brown.

While this is positioned as a sole source procurement, the government will consider written responses from businesses that believe they can meet the requirements and possess relevant experience and expertise. Interested contractors must submit detailed supporting evidence demonstrating their ability to comply with the requirements by 12pm EST on July 31, 2025. All inquiries must be submitted in writing to Byron.Brown4@va.gov, as telephone requests will not be accepted.
