About this file
This Special Notice details a sole source contract opportunity from the Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 6 for Illumina to provide silver support services for a NextSeq 2000 Next Generation Sequencer at the Durham VA Health Care Center. The contract is part of the VA SeqCURE program, which has sequenced over 6,000 specimens to understand SARS-CoV-2 variants impacting veterans, with the primary objective of conducting genomic research and supporting COVID-19 response efforts.
Key details include a solicitation number of 36C24625Q0973, a response deadline of July 31, 2025 at 12pm Eastern Time, and a NAICS code of 811210 with an estimated $34 million contract value. The procurement is justified under FAR 13.106-1(b)(2) for single-source solicitation, as the Durham VAMC BioMedical team lacks internal preventative maintenance capabilities for the sequencing equipment. Interested businesses may submit written notices demonstrating relevant experience, with the government retaining sole discretion on competitive acquisition, and all inquiries to be directed to Contracting Officer Byron Brown at Byron.Brown4@va.gov.
