About this opportunity
The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) issued this Limited/Sole Source Justification Notice for a 1-year service contract to demolish and replace two existing Air Handling Units (AHUs) and associated equipment supporting two cleanrooms in Code 617's Lab 150. The justification for the sole source procurement stems from the critical need to replace aging AHUs that were originally installed in 1995 with a 20-year design life, creating a high risk of catastrophic failure that could compromise the cleanroom operations. The contract was awarded to an unknown vendor on October 1, 2025, under contract number N0016725C1005, though the award amount was not disclosed in the notice. This procurement falls under the Department of the Navy Naval Sea Systems Command and is classified under NAICS code 541330 (Engineering Services) and PSC code J041 (Maintenance/Repair/Rebuild of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, and Air Circulating Equipment). The replacement project addresses equipment that has exceeded its intended operational lifespan by approximately 10 years, making the procurement time-sensitive to prevent potential facility disruption.
