About this opportunity

The Air Force Research Laboratory published a Special Notice seeking input on potential acquisition approaches for Aerospace Systems Technology Research and Assessment program requirements. AFRL previously conducted this research under a single-award IDIQ contract with multiple task orders focused on Aerospace Technology Development and Testing and Multi-Domain Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis.

The Special Notice provides a Request for Information that details AFRL's consideration to award two separate single-award IDIQ contracts, with one dedicated to Aerospace Technology Development and Testing research and the other to Multi-Domain Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis research. Both IDIQ contracts would share a single cost ceiling and be awarded under the same solicitation. The RFI seeks industry feedback on related risks, opportunities for contractor teaming, potential additional research capabilities, and other acquisition planning issues by February 7, 2020. An Associate Contractor Agreement between the two awardees would also be required due to the interrelated nature of the research areas.

Notice text

The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) is interested in acquiring research and development related to Aerospace Technology Development and Testing (ATDT) and Multi-Domain Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MDMSA). AFRL has previously accomplished this research under one single-award Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with multiple task orders to accomplish research efforts related to ATDT and MDMSA. This research has been conducted through the Research of Aerospace Systems Technology (RAST) Program (Broad Agency Announcement BAA-RQKP-2014-0003).
