About this opportunity

The Department of Energy Office of Science, operating through Argonne National Laboratory, is seeking to procure specialized scientific equipment consisting of two ACSM Detectors and two TOF-ACSM SMA-SMA Cables for mass spectrometry systems. The solicitation requires vendors to submit a comprehensive quotation package including a signed RFQ form, completed representations and certifications, a published price list demonstrating pricing reasonableness, country of origin verification, and lead time confirmation. Technical specifications for the ACSM Detector are stringent, demanding an electron multiplier detector with high gain capability (106 to 107), operational voltage range of 1,500-3,000 V, and compatibility with ultra-high vacuum conditions. Evaluation criteria will focus on technical compliance, with bids not meeting precise specifications being automatically disqualified. The quotation deadline is March 31, 2025, with the solicitation posted on March 25, 2025.

The contract opportunity is not set aside for any specific business category and is open to all qualified vendors. The place of performance is located in Lemont, IL 60439, with the procurement falling under NAICS category 423490 for Other Professional Equipment and Supplies Merchant Wholesalers. While specific award value is not disclosed, the solicitation seeks two units each of the ACSM Detector and SMA-SMA Cable, with detailed technical requirements including vacuum compatibility, specific connector types, and precise operational parameters. Potential vendors are encouraged to verify if they have existing DOE or GSA contract pricing that might be applicable. The procurement is for scientific equipment designed for high-resolution ion pulse detection and mass spectrometry systems, with strict requirements for materials, operational conditions, and technical performance.
