About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command, specifically the 99th Contracting Squadron (99 CONS), is conducting market research for a repair and replacement project at Nellis Air Force Base. The project involves troubleshooting and repairing a nitrogen leak in a Waukesha 69Kv Transformer (T2) located in Building 721 Substation and replacing the existing Dual Column Dehydrating Breather (DCB) with new matching equipment. This Sources Sought Notice/Request for Information (RFI) aims to identify qualified, experienced vendors capable of performing these specialized electrical infrastructure maintenance services. Interested firms are required to submit electronic responses by March 12, 2025, at 9:00 Pacific Time, providing details about their company, business size, small business certifications, estimated RFP response time, and anticipated service transition timeline. The government is seeking transparent feedback to improve the requirement and determine potential contract set-aside strategies.
The opportunity is currently designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, indicating preference for small business participation. While no specific award value is mentioned, the project involves precise technical work requiring compliance with manufacturer specifications, NEC standards, and applicable codes. The work is scheduled for February 2025 and will be located at 4650 Carswell Avenue, approximately 9 miles north of downtown Las Vegas. The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary labor, equipment, and materials to diagnose and repair nitrogen systems, conduct pressure testing, and install a new DCB with full operational capabilities. A one-year warranty is required for all performed work, and the contractor must maintain OSHA and AFOSH compliance throughout the project. This pre-solicitation notice serves as market research and does not guarantee a formal solicitation or contract award.
