About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), specifically the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa, Florida, is conducting market research to procure a brand-name Mimics 3D printing software from Materialise for radiology and medical training purposes. The software will be used to help radiology professionals segment anatomical structures, support presurgical planning, and facilitate veteran education. The contract seeks a perpetual, unlimited license subscription for the software, which will be installed on a dedicated VA-owned Dell laptop running Windows 10. Interested parties must submit capability statements, organizational details, and an Original Equipment Manufacturer authorization letter by April 25, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. EST. Submissions should be emailed to Leonora Simmons and will be evaluated based on the organization's technical capability, experience, and ability to meet the specific software functional requirements.
The procurement is specifically set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs) that are verified and certified in VETCERT. The contract structure includes a base year from July 30, 2025, to July 29, 2026, with four additional one-year option periods extending through July 29, 2030. The software must integrate with existing Form Labs 23D printers and support the creation of stereolithography (STL) files from DICOM data obtained through CT and MRI medical imaging. The contract covers two primary license types: MIMICS BASE and MIMICS DESIGN hospital maintenance, both including upgrades and support. While no specific award value is mentioned, the multi-year contract suggests a significant investment in medical imaging technology for veteran healthcare services.
