About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking a web-based clinical review application that provides evidence-based reference materials for both inpatient and outpatient medical services. This Request for Information (RFI) aims to gather market research on a comprehensive solution that can support up to 2,700 end users across approximately 170 VA facilities, covering 37 care categories and 129 specific medical services. The application must offer robust features including referral coordination, care guidelines, and compatibility with web browsers, with a focus on supporting high-risk medical services like chemotherapy, MRI/MRA, and PET scans. Responses to this RFI are due by April 11, 2025, at 3:00 PM Eastern Time, and must be submitted via email to Justin Sink and Jeffrey Fithen from the VA Office of Acquisitions and Logistics. All submissions will be treated as confidential and become government property, with respondents understanding that this RFI does not guarantee a subsequent solicitation or contract award.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation for this opportunity, which suggests it will be open to all qualified vendors. The contract is structured with a one-year base period and two six-month option periods, requiring the selected contractor to provide licensing, customer support, data reporting, guideline updates, and training for up to 60 VA clinical trainers. While specific award values are not disclosed, the comprehensive requirements suggest a potentially significant contract scope, particularly given the need to support 2,700 users across multiple VA facilities. Key deliverables will include providing login credentials within 10 business days of award, offering technical and clinical support during business hours, capturing detailed usage data, ensuring annual guideline updates, and delivering comprehensive training materials. The solicitation falls under the NAICS category 541511 for Custom Computer Programming Services and PSC code 7A20 for IT and Telecom Application Development Software.
