About this opportunity
The Federal Aviation Administration Logistics Center is conducting a market survey to identify capable sources for generator maintenance and emergency repair services in support of the United States Forest Service, with responses due by July 17, 2026. This is a sources-sought effort to assess market capability and inform acquisition strategy, not a request for proposals; the FAA will not accept proposals or reimburse response costs. The FAA is evaluating the potential for small business, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, or SBA 8(a) set-asides and requests that respondents provide SBA 8(a) certification if applicable.
The scope encompasses preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and 24/7 emergency repair services for backup power generators at 41 USFS facilities distributed across nine regions spanning California and Washington to Florida, Tennessee, and West Virginia. Generators range from 3 kilowatts to 168 kilowatts and include equipment manufactured by Kohler, Cummins, Generac, Onan, CAT, and Global Thermal Electric. Services include engine inspections, oil and filter servicing, fuel and cooling system maintenance, battery replacement, electrical system testing, and Automatic Transfer Switch inspections. Emergency repairs must support a 24-hour response time following FAA notification. The contractor must supply all transportation, labor, tools, equipment, and materials, manage waste disposal per EPA and state regulations, and submit digital written reports within five days of work completion.
Respondents must provide a capability statement documenting experience servicing identified generator brands, relevant contracts and past performance with customer references, previous Government generator maintenance contracts, years in business, and confirmation of ability to service all generator types and support any or all required locations. NAICS code is 811310; PSC is 6115.
