About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network 8 (NCO 8), announced a sole-source intent to award a firm fixed-price contract to QIAGEN LLC for QuantiFERON TB Gold Plus II reagents and controls, with capability statements due August 28, 2026 at 10:00 AM ET. The contract will be structured as a five-year BPA (base year plus four option years) for FDA-approved, DiaSorin LIAISON XL analyzer-compatible reagents and controls used for Interferon Gamma Release Assay testing at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital. The VA determined QIAGEN is the only responsible source under FAR 6.302-1 because QuantiFERON TB Gold Plus II reagents are exclusively manufactured by QIAGEN and uniquely compatible with the DiaSorin analyzer currently in use at JAHVH. The requirement includes monthly deliveries with shipping, and products must meet CAP, JCAHO, and VA laboratory standards. Interested parties may submit capability statements to Quentin.Ford@va.gov demonstrating ability to provide fully compatible supplies; the Government will evaluate responses to determine whether competition is viable, though a decision not to compete remains at Government discretion. NAICS 334516, PSC 6640.
