About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Integrated Service Network 5 is seeking sources to provide dental x-ray generators and acquisition sensors for multiple VA Medical Centers across VISN 5, including facilities in Maryland, West Virginia, and Washington DC. The procurement involves 43 x-ray generators and 98 total acquisition sensors (45 Size 1 and 53 Size 2) distributed across seven medical centers and clinics. This Request for Information (RFI) is designed to gather market intelligence about potential qualified sources, with a focus on understanding business size classifications under NAICS code 339114 and evaluating vendors' capabilities to meet technical specifications. Interested vendors must respond by February 28, 2025, at 5:00 PM EST, submitting detailed information about their business, including size status, manufacturing or distribution capabilities, and compliance with federal contracting requirements. Respondents are asked to provide comprehensive information, including capabilities statements, SAM.gov Unique Entity ID, and verification of their ability to meet the intricate technical requirements for dental imaging equipment.
The pre-solicitation notice does not indicate a specific set-aside for small businesses, though it seeks information about various small business designations such as Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and HUBZone businesses. The contract includes comprehensive requirements for equipment delivery, installation, and training, with a performance period expected within one year of award and specific delivery timelines for x-ray generators and sensors. Installation will require on-site training at each location, totaling 14 training days across the seven sites, and the equipment must come with a minimum one-year warranty covering parts, labor, and travel. The technical specifications are precise, requiring x-ray generators capable of specific voltage and current ranges, and sensors with exact surface area measurements and compatibility with MiPACS Dental Enterprise Viewer. While no specific contract value is mentioned, the scope involves replacing dental imaging equipment across multiple VA medical facilities, suggesting a significant procurement investment.
