About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically Veterans Integrated Service Network 6, is conducting market research to procure an Automated Endoscope leak tester and Endoscope Maintenance Unit for the Garner CBOC (Community-Based Outpatient Clinic). The equipment requirements include a dual-scope leak tester with LCD display, RFID reader, data export capabilities, and specific dimensional specifications of 11"W x 7.2"D x 7.9"H. Respondents must submit detailed capability statements indicating whether they are small business manufacturers or resellers of the medical equipment. All potential contractors must provide a letter from the manufacturer confirming they are an authorized distributor if they are not direct manufacturers. The market research responses are due by March 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM EST, and must be submitted to Byron.Brown4@va.gov with the subject line "Endoscope units". The government emphasizes that this is strictly market research for acquisition strategy planning and will not entertain any questions during this phase.

The pre-solicitation notice does not specify a small business set-aside, indicating the opportunity is open to all qualified vendors in the Electromedical and Electrotherapeutic Apparatus Manufacturing sector (NAICS 334510). No specific incumbent contractors are mentioned, and the notice does not disclose potential award values or precise budget ranges. The procurement focuses on highly specialized medical equipment, specifically an endoscope leak tester compatible with OES fiberscopes and EVIS EXERA videoscopes, with capabilities for alcohol flushing, leakage testing, and precise diagnostic functions. The maintenance unit must measure approximately 3.5"W x 6.5"D x 6"H and include accessories such as wall mount brackets. Potential contractors must demonstrate technical competence, authorized distribution channels, and the ability to provide comprehensive documentation proving their capability to meet the VA's stringent medical equipment requirements.
