About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has issued a Special Notice regarding their intent to conduct a sole source procurement for a Medrad Mark 7 Arterion Injection System. The VA's Milwaukee facility uses the Electrophysiology (EP) lab as a backup to the Cardiac Catheterization lab, and continuity of this capability is critical.
The purpose of this Special Notice is to inform interested parties that the VA intends to negotiate a limited source contract with 1st American Medical Distributors, Inc., a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), for the Medrad Mark 7 Arterion Injection System. The VA has determined that 1st American Medical Distributors, Inc. is the only authorized distributor that can meet this requirement. Responses to this notice will be used to determine if a competitive procurement is warranted, but the decision to not compete this acquisition is at the Government's discretion. Questions and comments should be submitted to the Contract Specialist, Waymon McNeal, by email no later than May 6, 2024 at 12:00 pm Central Time. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 334510 (Electromedical and Electrotherapeutic Apparatus Manufacturing).

Please note that this is not a request for proposal nor a request for quote as there is no solicitation document available. Therefore, this is a notice of intent issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs to negotiate a limited source contract with 1st American Medical Distributors, Inc. for a Medrad Mark 7 Arterion Injection System. The Milwaukee VAMC is frequently using the Electrophysiology lab (EP Lab) as a backup to the Cardiac Cath lab, continuity is critical to maintain. While the Cath lab currently uses the Bayer Injection System, the EP lab does not currently have such system in place. OEM identified it has only one authorized SDVOSB distributor that can meet the requirement. The Company is 1st American Medical Distributors, Inc. [NG4FRBLDG6V1] (SDVOSB). The proposed action is IAW FAR 13.106-1(b) & VAAR 819.7008.
Information received in response to this special notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The determination to not compete the proposed acquisition is wholly within the discretion of the Government. The Government will not be responsible for paying on any costs incurred and/or associated with the development of any responses submitted to this notice.
