About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network 10 (Detroit VA Medical Center) announced a Notice of Intent to Sole Source on May 5, 2026, for one Diasorin Liaison MDX/Integrated Cycler (110V, Part Number MOL1001) under firm-fixed-price contract with a response deadline of June 15, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time. This is a sole-source procurement; the government intends to negotiate only with Diasorin Molecular LLC.

The Detroit VA Medical Center requires this equipment because the Liaison MDX/Integrated Thermocycler is the only device capable of reading, interpreting, and reporting Diasorin's Candida auris surveillance test, which is the sole FDA-cleared clinical test for this application in the United States. The equipment supports VHA Directive 1131 and CDC recommendations for Candida auris screening through direct swab sampling with minimal preparation, reducing reagent consumption and repeat testing while limiting outbreak-related bed closures. Results are diagnostic and immediately reportable to the medical record.

Diasorin Molecular LLC is the only vendor capable of providing the exact equipment, installation, and service support necessary without voiding warranties. This notice is not a solicitation or request for competitive proposals. Any party asserting that competition would be advantageous to the government must submit clear and convincing evidence by the June 15 deadline. The NAICS code is 339112 (Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing); the PSC is 6515.
