About this file

This is a Notice of Intent to Sole Source from the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Integrated Service Network 10 (VA VISN 10) for the Detroit VA Medical Center. The contracting office is located in Indianapolis, Indiana (ZIP 46240), with Contract Specialist Natalie Harris (natalie.harris4@va.gov, 317-988-1515) and Contracting Officer Kellie Konopinski serving as primary points of contact. The solicitation number is 36C25026Q0554, with a response deadline of June 15, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

The Detroit VA Medical Center requires one Diasorin Liaison MDX/Integrated Cycler (110V, Part Number MOL1001) under a firm-fixed-price contract from the sole source vendor, Diasorin Molecular LLC (11331 Valley View Street, Cypress, California 90630). Diasorin has been identified as the only capable vendor because their Liaison MDX/Integrated Thermocycler is the sole equipment capable of reading, interpreting, and reporting Diasorin's Candida auris surveillance test, which is the only FDA-cleared clinical test for this application in the United States. The equipment supports VHA Directive 1131 and CDC recommendations for Candida auris screening through direct swab sampling with minimal preparation, reducing reagent usage and repeat testing. The notice explicitly states this is not a solicitation or request for competitive proposals; responses asserting that competition would be advantageous to the government must provide clear and convincing evidence and be submitted by the June 15, 2026 deadline. The Product Service Code is 6515, and the associated NAICS code is 339112.
