About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Central Iowa Health Care System is seeking qualified contractors to provide two Konica Minolta Premium Wireless 14x17 Cesium (CSI) Cassette Size TFT Panels for its radiology department. These specialized medical imaging panels are designed as accessories for existing equipment, specifically compatible with a PXS710 High Frequency X-ray Machine and Konica Minolta AeroDr Battery Charger 2. The panels must meet several salient characteristics, including being wireless, lightweight (under 6 lbs), featuring a Cesium Digital Radiography panel, and having a minimum 16-bit image detector. Evaluation criteria will focus on technical acceptability, with emphasis on meeting or exceeding the specified characteristics for the 14x17 Momentum DR Cesium Detector. The sources sought notice is categorized under NAICS code 334517 for Irradiation Apparatus Manufacturing, and interested contractors must respond by April 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM Central Time.
No specific set-aside designation has been applied to this opportunity, though the notice indicates a small business size standard of 1,500 employees. The procurement involves two identical panels, which will enable more efficient foot x-rays for veterans with larger or swollen anatomies, potentially reducing radiation exposure and improving imaging quality. The panels come with a 3-year warranty for parts and labor, and no additional training or installation services are required. While no specific award value is mentioned, the equipment is intended to enhance medical imaging capabilities at the Central Iowa VA Healthcare System. Contractors responding to this sources sought notice should be prepared to provide detailed information about their capabilities, with the understanding that this is not a formal solicitation and does not guarantee future contract award.
