About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command seeks quotations for one CNC 5-axis vertical milling machine, with responses due by 1200 hours on July 24, 2026. This procurement is set aside for small businesses (500 employees or fewer under NAICS 333517) and is issued as a Request for Quotation for commercial products under FAR Part 12.2.
Place of performance is Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma, with delivery required within 65 days of award and FOB destination. The machine must meet detailed salient characteristics including a 30" × 20" × 20" work envelope, 40-taper spindle with 30 horsepower at 12,000 rpm, integrated 2-axis trunnion rotary table with B-axis tilt of +120/−35 degrees and 360-degree C-axis rotation, 30+1 side-mount tool changer, wireless probing system, 1,200 IPM rapid rates, 650 IPM maximum cutting speed, 55-gallon flood coolant system, electronic thermal compensation, broken tool detection, and a maximum footprint of 158.0" width by 124.1" depth by 123.2" height. A transferable controller compatible with other CNC machining centers is required. Quotes must be valid for 90 days.

Technical acceptability requires the quoted machine to clearly meet all salient characteristics and minimum solicitation requirements; submissions must be clear, concise, and sufficiently detailed to substantiate claims, including any video segments and resumes. The Government will award to the technically acceptable quote offering the best value and reserves the right to award other than lowest price for higher quality items. Award will be made without negotiations. Quotes should be submitted to 97CONF.PKA.Contracting@us.af.mil and ryan.lafever.2@us.af.mil with technical submissions provided as a secondary document.
