The contract is specifically for First Receivers Decontamination Program (FRDP) equipment, which includes protective gear and medical supplies such as PAPR hoods, battery packs, Tychem suits, and CBRN filters. The contract has a performance period of 45 days after receipt of order and is focused on acquiring specific protective and decontamination equipment.
The purpose of this Special Notice is to provide an opportunity for other potential contractors to demonstrate their capability to meet the government's requirements before a sole source contract is awarded. Interested parties are invited to submit detailed expressions of interest, including capabilities, pricing, and technical data, to demonstrate they could be a comparable source. All submissions must be emailed to Jonatan.Rondon@va.gov and received by 16:00 hours EST on May 7th, 2025. The government will review these submissions to determine whether to maintain the sole source approach or consider competitive procurement. Contractors seeking to participate must provide comprehensive information about their ability to supply the specified equipment, which includes alkaline batteries, PAPR systems, CBRN hoods, Tychem coveralls, and a climate-controlled storage unit. The Notice emphasizes that it is not a formal request for proposals, and no contract will be awarded based on responses received.
