About this opportunity
The United States Forest Service (USFS) Procurement & Property Services is seeking to purchase one 3 slant horse gooseneck trailer through a competitive solicitation. The Request for Quote (RFQ) 1240LP25Q0022 details specific technical requirements for the trailer, including an 18-20 foot deck length, 6-6'8" deck width, and 3,000-4,000 lbs curb weight with two tandem axles. The government will evaluate offers based on technical capability and price, with the intention of awarding to the offeror providing the best overall value. Potential vendors must submit their quotes by May 5, 2025, at 1:00 PM Mountain Time, with a required delivery date no later than October 1, 2025. Vendors are expected to carefully review the detailed specifications, which include requirements such as triple wall galvanized steel sidewall construction, front gravel guard, swing rear gate, and other specific trailer components.
The solicitation is 100% set aside for small business entities, specifically targeting manufacturers in the Truck Trailer Manufacturing NAICS category. The trailer will be used by the USFS Intermountain Zone, with the place of performance located in Cedar City, Utah. This is a new purchase order with no incumbent contractor, and the government has not predetermined a specific manufacturer or model. While the exact award value is not specified, the solicitation includes an amendment that modified some initial requirements, such as reducing the axle capacity from 7,000 lbs to 5,000-6,000 lbs per axle while maintaining 4-wheel electric brakes. Vendors must be prepared to submit invoices through the Department of Treasury's Invoice Processing Platform (IPP) and comply with all specified solicitation requirements.
