About this opportunity
The Air Mobility Command's 22nd Maintenance Squadron at McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas, seeks professional services from a qualified industrial oven service technician to conduct on-site evaluation, verify system functionality, and restore base operations of an existing industrial vacuum oven, with quotes due September 8, 2026, at 1:00 PM CST. The procurement is a total small business set-aside.
Place of performance is McConnell AFB, Kansas (Hangar 1124N). The oven is a Grieve Corporation WRC Walk-In Oven (natural gas-fired, 500°F maximum, serial number 118984A0117) equipped with a Powerex vacuum system. The contractor must provide all labor, tools, and equipment to conduct thorough physical inspections of oven doors and vacuum system components, restore baseline functionality of heating elements with proper heat distribution and airflow, and deliver a detailed written findings report documenting inspection results and specific recommendations for future repairs or component replacements within a mutually agreed-upon timeframe following the on-site visit. Minimum qualifications include demonstrated experience servicing, repairing, and calibrating industrial heat processing and vacuum oven systems of similar size and complexity. All work must be completed within 90 calendar days of contract award. The oven processes flammable solvents including methyl ethyl ketone, acetone, alcohol, and methyl propyl ketone on both exposed and vacuum-bagged composite parts.
The procurement requires achievement of temperature uniformity within 15°F, AMS2750 compliance, and vacuum capability achieving a minimum pressure of 25 inches of mercury with zero allowable leakage or decay rate. The contract prohibits use of Class I Ozone Depleting Substances, including halons, chlorofluorocarbons, carbon tetrachloride, methyl chloroform, and methyl bromide, in test, operation, or maintenance activities. NAICS code is 333994; PSC code is J044. The period of performance runs September 7 through December 6, 2026. A mandatory site visit was held September 2, 2026, at 8:00 AM CST. Questions were due August 28.
