The National Institute of Standards and Technology seeks two back-illuminated scientific CMOS cameras for absorption tomography research, with quotations due May 27, 2026 at 12:00 PM Eastern Time and pre-quote inquiries due by May 17, 2026. This is a full and open competition under the Revolutionary FAR Overhaul Part 12 for commercial products.

Place of performance and delivery is NIST's Gaithersburg, Maryland campus (Building 301, Shipping and Receiving). The cameras must meet demanding optical and electronic specifications: back-illuminated sensor with minimum 14 mm by 14 mm dimensions (11 mm diagonal minimum), at least 2500 by 2500 pixel format with pixels not exceeding 10 microns, quantum efficiency from 25% at 200 nm to 70% at 500 nm, 16-bit digitization minimum, frame readout rates of at least 50 frames per second at 16 bits or 100 frames per second at 12 bits, global shutter architecture, full well capacity of at least 7,000 electrons, readout noise of 2 electrons RMS or less, and minimum operating temperature of -10 degrees Celsius or lower. Cameras must include all necessary accessories (frame grabber cards, cables, refrigerated chillers) and operate with C-mount optical mounts.
