This opportunity, posted on March 17, 2026, is structured as a sole-source acquisition with a firm fixed-price contract type. The requirement involves providing 9,000 gallons of aviation gasoline to fuel vintage and civilian performer aircraft during the air show event. Market research conducted by the contracting office determined that only one vendor is reasonably available and equipped to meet the specific operational requirements. The Special Notice identifies the 502d Contracting Squadron as the procuring entity, with all performance requirements centered at JBSA-Randolph AFB, Texas.
Contractors responding to this opportunity must provide approximately 9,000 gallons of 100LL AVGAS meeting ASTM D910 specifications, along with two refueling vehicles and two trained operators to service aircraft during the three-day event from May 1 through May 3, 2026. The proposal submission deadline is March 26, 2026, providing interested vendors nine days to prepare their bids. Key contractor requirements include maintaining a 15-minute response time to refueling requests, providing operator names and contact information two weeks in advance for military gate clearance, obtaining a Certificate of Insurance with minimum liability coverage of $1,000,000, and completing FAA-required safety briefings and flightline indoctrination training. Contractors must also be prepared to remove any unused fuel from the installation at their own expense and submit a product quality analysis report certifying the fuel meets all specifications. Interested contractors must demonstrate compliance with all applicable Federal Acquisition Regulation provisions, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement requirements, and Department of the Air Force regulations.
