About this file

This is a Request for Quotation (RFQ) document for wood boxes issued by the State of Maine for the MMA-Limestone Facility located at 125 Kansas Road, Limestone, Maine 04750. The solicitation seeks bids for the design and manufacture of wooden storage boxes in two configurations: assembled with removable tops and knock-down sets for customer assembly. The boxes must meet specific internal dimensions of 46 inches in length, 14 inches in width, and 7.5 inches in height, with a minimum load-bearing capacity of 90 pounds. The estimated purchase volume is 600 boxes, though actual purchases will depend on the facility's production and supply needs at the time of order. No specific response deadline, bid opening date, or contract award date is provided in this document. Bidders are not subject to minimum or maximum order quantity or dollar value restrictions unless otherwise stipulated in their bid response.

Bid prices must include freight to the specified Maine destination and are based on the bidder's proposed design within the established specifications. Material options for construction include CDX or equivalent plywood (3/8-inch or 1/2-inch), 7/16-inch OSB, or 1-inch nominal lumber for sides and ends, with assembly using drywall screws, brads, nails, or staples at the bidder's discretion. All bids must include a drawing or picture of the proposed design, dimension data, and a complete list of construction materials. Bidders are required to provide samples for evaluation and testing at their own expense upon notification. Contract award is contingent upon successful screening through the federal Excluded Parties List System (EPLS) and provision of any required certifications of eligibility as determined by the State Purchasing Division.
